At Great Wall Bronx, the heart of American-Chinese cuisine pulses vibrantly. Nestled at 594 Grand Concourse, this gem strikes a chord with locals craving comforting flavors. Customers rave about the boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice, with Derek Escalera touting them as the best in the Bronx.
The warm service stands out, as exemplified by Berni Noller’s experience, where the owner’s kindness turned a small 25-cent dilemma into a memorable gesture. Whether you're new to the area or seeking a break from fast food, as M J did, Great Wall proves a worthwhile choice with its affordable menu and hearty portions.
Highlights include the General Tso’s Chicken and Orange Chicken, noted by Anthony McDougald as must-tries. The open kitchen showcases transparency in food preparation, assuring customers about ingredients and quality. Lunch specials, which include a complimentary drink, further enhance their appeal, while options like brown rice cater to health-conscious diners.
While the dining area may echo the typical NYC Chinese spot, it offers a no-frills space where flavor reigns supreme. Great Wall Bronx isn’t just a restaurant; it's a delicious reminder of why comfort food matters, drawing you back time and again.

I ordered my food over the phone and went to pick it up. They treated me with kindness and respect. It’s been brick in NYC and I was trying to park my scooter the owner saw me struggling and told me to bring it inside. I paid for my food and I guess the price for soda has increased. I was short 25 cent and he let me have it. I know it’s only 25 cent but some places would have made a big deal. Kindness is essential for running a business and I definitely appreciated it. It’s definitely tough times! Blessings and thank you !

This is the first time I went to the place because I was tired of eating Popeyes and Burger King (nearest to the CUNY school) Not a big place but food is really good and price is cheaper than fastfood. This will be my new favorite place to eat.

Great Wall has some of the best American-Chinese food in the South Bronx. All their dishes are good from the General Tso Chicken, Orange Chicken, Fried rice, egg rolls, fried wings, whatever it is, it is good. All the food is cooked out in the open so there are no surprises as to what is being added or what is being used. They respect any and all food allergies, you just have to inform them as to what you are allergic too. Their lunch specials are super affordable and come with a free drink. They also offer brown rice options for any of their rice dishes if you are interested in a healthier option. The service is always quick whether you are ordering to dine in or for takeout. However, the atmosphere is your basic Chinese food spot in NYC. Meaning they have the typical uncomfortable wood booths for you to dine in. However, I wouldn't trade this place for a fancier Chinese food spot anywhere. Overall, I strongly recommend it if you are craving American Chinese food or if you're just hungry.

The best chinese food in the area. Mott Haven is lacking when it comes quality chinese food but this chinese store does a good job. I came on a Saturday night and it was EXTREMELY busy. I counted 8 employees not including the 2 delivery men. It was pouring rain outside and the phone was constantly ringing for new orders. Some of the best takeout Chinese restaurants do not deliver for this reason. The demand is too high for them to keep up with. So im surprised they deliver. I would NOT order for delivery on peak hours and weekends because i saw LIVE how chaotic it is. Just go in person. Its a high traffic area and there’s a club next door. I went on 2 occasions and the chicken wings were perfectly fried! Definitely high quality NYC chinese wings. (Get them chopped up) Fried Jumbo shrimp and Broccoli is also really good.
